According to Yuanben Laoqida, Korean merchants harvested huge profits by making business in China. They were unable to distinguish real notes from the counterfeits however. In order to protect their interest, they insisted on being paid by liaochao and superior zechao and lanchao and hunchao were rejected as poor-quality notes.Whether to accept zechao was a key point in the negotiations between buyers and sellers. It is possible to understand Laoqida Yanjie from the perspective of the changes happened in ordinary people's daily life from Yuan Dynasty to the early Ming Dynasty.
