在自然主义的思潮下,人们更倾向于将心身之间关系问题纳入到自然主义的研究视角,持着一种自然主义的本体论。而戴维森的心身随附性观点的发展既可以为物理主义服务,同时也可能会滑入到二元论的深渊,其心身随附性的观点只是体现了心物之间的协变性关系,并没有形而上学的依赖性,无法保证其物理主义的本体论前提。金在权通过重新诠释随附性概念,重新利用因果排除论证和帕皮诺的物理因果闭合论证,他认为,随附性单向蕴含物理因果闭合原则,物理因果闭合原则又蕴含着物理主义,所以随附性必然化物理主义。

We hold a very naturalistic ontology in which we had a tendency to take the mind-body problem in the naturalistic perspective. However, Davison bring the idea of supervenience into mind-body relationship may devote to both physicalism and dualism. This view just reflected covariance relationship between mind and body, without metaphysical dependence. Jaegwon kim restore the idea of supervenience, making full use of the theory causal closure principle of papineau and the exclusion argument of himself. Kim consider that the supervenience entailes physical causal closure, and the causal closure entails physicalism, therefore the supervenience lead to physicalisim.
