An Interpretation of the Country Images in Yu Xiuhua's Poems

余秀华的诗深深地打上了以"横店"为中心的"乡村"烙印,充满着浓厚的江汉平原的泥土气息。她把生活中的点点滴滴揉进诗歌,表现自己对家乡的特殊情感,抒写其独特的生命体验。她笔下的乡村意象群或阴暗、孤独,或明朗、清新,正是这些独特且极富心理张力的意象,充分表达了诗人复杂、丰富的乡土情怀:想逃离,却又难以割舍、深陷其中。

Yu Xiuhua's poems were deeply marked with country images,with 'Hengdian' being the focus,and a strong flavor of the Jianghan Plain. In her poems she wrote of ordinary life to show her special feelings for her hometown and to capture her unique life experience. The country images were various. They could be gloomy,forlorn,or clear,fresh. These unique and imaginative images fully expressed the poet's complex feelings towards her hometown: she was simultaneously eager to escape and reluctant to leave.
