Review of the Studies on Chateaubriand’s Political Thought

除文学家之外,夏多布里昂还是著名的思想家、政治家。作为思想家,他的思想中充满了正统主义和自由主义的矛盾;作为政治家,他缺乏政治家应有的灵活性。相应地,在夏多布里昂的政治思想研究领域也呈现多样化和丰富性的发展态势,而这种多样化和丰富性与时代和社会的发展密不可分。与此同时,在与政治思想研究密切相关的宗教思想研究方面,学界则取得了比较一致的看法。从《论革命》到《基督教的真谛》,夏多布里昂的思想经历了从悲观厌世到对宗教持乐观情绪的转化。

Besides being a writer,Chateaubriand is also a well-known politician and a political thinker.As a thinker,his thought is full of paradoxes of traditionalism and liberalism;as a politician,he lacks the flexibility that a real politician should have.Correspondingly,in the field of the studies of Chateaubriand's political thought,it presents a developing situation of diversity and richness,which is closely related to the evolution of the times and the society.Meanwhile,in the study of chateaubriand's religious thought which is closely relevant to the research of his political thought,a relative common view has been reached:from the Essai sur les révolutions to the Génie du christianisme shows a transition of Chateaubriand's thought from a pessimistic world-weary to a religious optimism.
