Language in the Chinese Translations of The Little Prince: A Comparison of Hu’s and Ai’s Version

《小王子》自问世至今深受人们的喜爱,被翻译成多种语言在全球发行。其寓意深刻,富有哲理,故事生动有趣,引人入胜。在中国,《小王子》也有诸多种类的中文译本。本文以胡雨苏、艾梅两个译本为例,对语言用语、翻译用语方式、语言风格、不足之处等进行比较分析,以考察中西文化的差异、不同译者对该作品的理解偏向和翻译能力,以及不同译本的特点。

The novel The Little Prince has had many translations ever since it came into being. It has profound meanings, philosophical inclinations and fascinating plots. It has been rendered into Chinese by many translators. The paper analyzes two of these transltions, HU Yusu’s and AI Mei’s, in terms of language and style, successes and failures, comprehension and expression, and general characteristics as translated versions.
