The novella Liu Wanfu Case by Shao Li has profound and multi-dimensional interpretations,one of which is the literary expression of its ideal pursuit. When writing about the characters' ideals,the writer reveals her own literary pursuit which is based on the social reality. In this novel,Zhou Qisheng,the secretary of the county party committee,has a high profile while Liu Wanfu,a peasant who has just entered the city,keeps a low and even blind profile. However,the writer Shao Li sticks to a'tilting'posture in order to bridge the gap between the two characters or,as can be understood,the two different political ideals.
