The Ulm School of Design: A Training Center for Industrial Design in the Federal Republic of Germany in the 1950/60s

The“hochschule für gestaltung ulm”or“hfg”for short,in English called the“Ulm School of Design”,is known,next to the Bauhaus in Weimar and Dessau,as the most important school of design in the 20th century,with an international influence and reputation.Both institutions were short-lived.The Bauhaus operated from 1919 to 1933 and thus 14 years,the“hfg”from 1953 to 1968,a year longer,and thus 15 years.
