摘要
19世纪美国著名作家凯瑟琳·玛利亚·赛奇威克以其小说创作 ,剖析了各种妇女形象 ,展现了西方文化传统中玛利亚妇女传统价值观和夏娃女性独立意识的冲突和融合 ,从而说明了 1 9世纪美国妇女小说既是对社会偏见和性别歧视的批判 ,也是对妇女地位传统观念的抱守。
Catherine Maria Sedgwick, a famous American writer in the 19 th century, depicts all kinds of women in her novel to show the conflict and blending of the traditional woman value represented by Maria and the independent sense represented by Eve in Western culture,which further proves the point that American woman novels in the 19 th century is the criticism on social and sexual prejudice as well as the holding of traditional woman value.
