天津自贸试验区发展背景下天津高校英语专业课程设置对比研究

A Comparative Study of Curriculum Design of English Majors——In Relation to Development of Tianjin Pilot Free Trade Zone

摘要 在天津自贸区建设背景下,以市场需求为导向,通过横向对比天津市几所高校英语相关专业的课程设置特点发现,在专业课的基本情况方面,各校各专业应修专业课学分总分基本一致,但在专业必修课和专业选修课比例上以及选修课开课自由度上有明显差异;在口语类课程设置方面,各校各英语相关专业的开设情况比较稳定一致;在商务管理类课程设置方面,各校均开设了比例较高且类别丰富的商务管理类课程,课程开设情况显示出本校的师资力量情况,部分学校课程设置勇于创新,但仍然面临挑战,各校开设的商务管理类课程门类比较一致,但也有个别学校开设了非常特殊的与其他学校重复率很低的课程。据此,天津市高校英语相关专业课程设置的改革应实时根据市场需要进行调整,且调整频率要适中。应用类课程设置既需要考虑学生对该领域知识的掌握程度,也需要考虑学生的精力分配和承受度,同时还需要考虑在师资不足的情况下如何最大程度优化教师资源。 A comparison among curriculum design of seven English-related majors from seven colleges in Tianjin is conducted with reference to the market demand in Tianjin Pilot Free Trade Zone.The result shows that English-related courses in different colleges account for similar number of credits,while the proportions of required and optional English-related courses vary and the range of choice in optional courses is also different.The oral English courses design is similar among different colleges.Meanwhile,all the colleges involved have included various and a big proportion of business-and-management-related courses,which reflect the faculty construction.Some colleges have been innovative in business-and-management-related courses design,and some even have opened courses that are rarely found in other colleges.It is suggested that colleges should adjust their curriculum design according to market demand,which on the contrary should not be too frequent.Application courses should be set based on both students’ demand and ability to learn.At the same time,optimizing faculty structure is also necessary when there are insufficient faculty members.
