Modulating the stem cell niche for tissue regeneration with hair follicle

摘要 人体内的组织和器官的形态和功能是恒定的。这就需要组织内的细胞新生与凋亡保持动态平衡。已有大量证据表明组织中新生细胞的主要来源为干细胞。对于体内干细胞的行为和活动是如何被控制的以及干细胞间是如何相互协调来维持机体稳定的还了解不够。最近的研究表明,皮肤毛囊作为模型体系来研究组织再生具有很多优势。 Tissues and organs remain constant functionally and morphologically during the life. This process requires a dynamic balance between cell production and elimination. Stem cells are the major source of new cells. However, it still remains unclear how stem cell behavior and activity are regulated in vivo. The mechanisms that coordinate niche/stem cell interactions to maintain normal tissue homeostasis are still not well understood. Using the skin hair follicles as a model system, scientists have shed new light on how tissues successfully orchestrate tissue regeneration.
