In 1937, the War of Resistance against Japan broke out. Wujiaba Airport then became the busiest of airport with both the military and civil applications. Subsequently, in the process of urbanization, the tall buildings nearby Wujiaba, like the aircrafts taking off at the airport, have become higher and higher. As one of the busiest international airports throughout China, Wujiaba Airport is only three kilometers away from the city proper. After 22:00, June 27, 2012, all airline flights will no longer take off or take on at Wujiaba Airport. Wujiaba as an airport full of history clouds will be closed. As a photojournalist, I would prefer to take pictures with a sensual way. When receiving order from the newspaper to cover the relocation of the airport, the first idea flashing into my mind was not a huge aircraft and the magnificent landscape of the airport building. I wished to look for a kind of mood, a kind of souvenir and a kind of lonely feeling. With this feeling, I hoped to reserve some 'memory fragments' for the entire large area. So I think 'Guanjie', a traditional market called by the Yunan locals as 'Jiezi,' where is separated from the Wujiaxia Airport by a wall. Wujiaba Airport is only separated by a wall. When I walked in the bazaar, the roar of the planes over my head and the noisy bazaar gave me a hint. According to the plan, 'Guanjie', with the relocation of the airport, will be build into the sub- business area of the city. With the relocation of the airport, the aircrafts over 'Guanjie' will no longer exist. So I found some relatively common around the bazaar to shoot, which, together with the roaring aircrafts of Wujiaba, left the lonely 'memory fragments'.
