Baiyun Lake was formed in the Han Dynasty 2000 years ago. Zhangqiu, the place where Baiyun Lake is located is the hometown of Li Kaixian, a famous litterateur in the Ming Dynasty. Li Kaixian contributed money to improve Baiyun Lake and led the local people to resist the exorbitant taxes levied by the government, which were soon well known in the surrounding area. Nowadays, Baiyun Lake has become a famous tourist resort of suburbs of Jinan. Every summer, tens of thousands of tourists come to the scenic spot to watch the beautiful sceneries, taste fresh lake food, and enjoy the cool summer.
