Yantai Opera & Dance Drama Theater:Benefiting the People Through the Biennial Cultural Tour

烟台市歌舞剧院前身是成立于二十世纪六十年代初的烟台专区文工团,1975年后更名为烟台市话剧团、烟台市艺术团、烟台市歌舞团、烟台市歌舞剧院。历经五十多年的艺术创作与实践,剧院已逐步形成了“保持土气、彰显洋气、追求大气”具有浓郁地方特色的艺术风格。

The predecessorof Yantai Opera & Dance Drama Theater was the Art Troupe of Yantai Subprovincial Administrative Region, which was renamed after 1975 as Yantai Modern Drama Troupe, Yantai Art Troupe, Yantai Song & Dance Ensemble, and Yantai Opera & Dance Drama Theater. Through the artistic creation and practice of over five decades, the Theater has gradually formed the artistic style with strong local characteristics featuring "maintenance of rustic flavors, manifestation of Western style, and pursuit of elegance." As the only large-scale comprehensive art performing organization in Yantai, it has successively created, rehearsed and performed about a hundred large-scale songs, dances and stage plays. Its marvelous programs and excellent performing skills make it popular throughout Shandong Province and both the north and the south of China.
