On December 26,2018,the Jinan-Qingdao High-Speed Railway was officially opened to traffic.It has not only constituted an express passenger corridor that c o n n e c t s J i n a n,Q i n g d a o,Z i b o,Weifang and Binzhou and leads to such coastal cities as Yantai,Weihai and Rizhao,but also shortened the distance between cities in Shandong.The Jinan-Qingdao High-Speed Railway is the main channel of the“Three Longitudinal and Transverse”intercity rail transit network in Shandong.After being completed and open to traffic,it will realize a one-hour nonstop journey between Jinan and Qingdao.In addition,the Jinan-Qingdao High-Speed Railway will be connected with such high-speed railways as the Qingdao-Rongcheng Intercity Railway and the Qingdao-Lianyungang Railway.In the future,the drive from Jinan to Yantai or Rizhao will also be shortened to about two hours.
