The "Qingdao" Yacht to Start a Round-the-world Tour Once Again

作为'世界上最具影响力的航海赛事'和'规模最大的业余环球航海赛事',克利伯环球帆船赛自1996年开赛以来,已经发展成为世界上最著名的环球航海赛事之一,基于'全民参与、零航海经验要求'的办赛理念,如今这项赛事已经使全球千余名帆船爱好者实现了航海梦想。

Recently,it was announced that the Clipper 2018-19 Round the World Yacht Race will kick off from St.Katharine Docks in London,Britain on September 1,2019.It is introduced that the crew of'Qingdao'consist of 45 male sailors and 18 female ones from 10 countries and regions,of which 9 are full-course sailors of the round-the-world yacht race.The first group of'Qingdao'ambassador crew,Zheng Yi,Zang Kun,Li Bing,Zhang Shan,Lyu Xiang,Luo Xiaoyu and media crew Guan Yadi,who just started receiving the first phase of training,attended the crew meeting.Eleven 70-foot(21.3-meter)Clipper racing yachts for the new season will arrive at St.Katharine Docks in London on August 24,and will set sail one week later.Three Chinese racing yachts,namely,'Qingdao'.'Sanya'and'Zhuhai'will sail side by side for the first time and go on a round-theworld tour lasting for 11 months with a distance of 40,000 nautical miles.It will be the first time in the 23-year history of the Clipper Race that 6 Chinese yachts participate in the race at the same time.These 3 cities also become host ports of the new season and partners of the racing teams.
