Three Generations’ Persistence

'一口饭,做军粮;一块布,做军装。'这句质朴的话语是革命战争年代的拥军写照。在潍坊汽车总站有着一条潍坊至平度市大泽山腹地的拥军专线,自上世纪70年代初开设,至今近半个世纪。退伍军人张培武是跑这条线路的第一代驾驶员,他的临终夙愿就是儿子能坚持跑下去。

"If there’s only one bite of food,we’ll send it to the army;if there’s only one piece of cloth,we’ll turn it into clothes for soldiers”.This simple sentence is the true depiction of people’s support for the army in the times of revolutionary war.In Weifang Bus Terminal,there is an army special line from Weifang to the interior of Daze Mountain in Pingdu,which has been in operation for nearly SO years since its opening in the early 1970s.Zhang Peijun,a veteran,was the first-generation driver of this special line and his last wish before his death was that his son could work as a driver on this special line.Now,Zhang Qingshan has worked on this special line for 27 years since he took over his father’s job in 1993 at the age of 30.The only purpose of his persistence is to fulfill his father’s commitment to supporting the army.
