4月29日,生态环境部公布了11个'无废城市'建设试点,威海与深圳、重庆等城市同时入选,成为山东省唯一试点城市。'无废城市'的首倡者、中国工程院院士杜祥琬表示,推进'无废城市'建设,将引导全社会减少固体废物产生,提升城市固体废物管理水平,加快解决久拖不决的固体废物污染问题,使提升固体废物综合管理水平与推进城市供给侧改革相衔接,将直接产生环境效益、经济效益和社会效益。

Does a“Zero-Waste City”mean no waste in a city?This is not true.According to the Pilot Work Plan for“Zero-Waste City”Construction issued by the General Office of the State Council,a“Zero-Waste City”is an advanced city management concept,which refers to a city development model t hat i s guided by a new development concept,with an aim to continue to propel source reduction and resource utilization of solid waste,and minimize the quantity of landfill and the environmental impact of solid waste by promoting green development modes and lifestyles.
