Laos,as one of the most popular tourist destinations for European and American travelers,has been included in the list of top 53“Places to Go”recommended by the New York Times.Laos is a Buddhist country,where 95%of citizens believe in Hinayana.On the 236,800 square kilometers of land,there are more than 4,900 temples and pagodas.No matter whether you stroll down bustling city streets or walk on country paths,most of the resplendent and magnificent buildings you see are temples with an endless stream of pilgrims.On busy streets,you may often brush past monks in orange robes,and see wellgroomed people reverently kneeling and praying,with no feeling of embarrassment.
