It explored the research and application of tonifying kidney and strengthening brain method in treatment of depression,conducting a summary of the pathogenesis of depression and its research and application in clinical and basic experiments.The mechanism mainly involves monoamine neurotransmitters,HPGA axis function and neurotrophic factor and nerve regeneration.The recent studies have shown that the incidence of depression is closely related to hippocampal neuronal dysplasia and tonifying kidney therapy can protect neurons and promote the neuron’s differentiation and regeneration.This article has carried on the modern scientific inquiry to the mechanism of treatment of depression by the method of tonifying kidney and strengthening brain therapy.Tonifying kidney therapy can regulate the central sex hormone levels orits receptor function to complete its brain function and achieve the effect of prevention and treatment of depression.
