Practical Explorations on Introducing Chinese Cultural Elements in Higher Vocational English Teaching

为了减少高职高专学生跨文化交际中的文化失语现象,在教学实践中,不仅要注重在中西文化对比时导入中国文化元素,还应适时适量地扩展教学内容,鼓励学生多观看反映中国文化的英语影视作品,让学生对自己熟悉的母语文化元素有足够的输入,从而使其能进行相应的输出表达,以提高学生的跨文化交际能力。

In order to help students in higher vocational colleges avoid Chinese cultural aphasia,in the practice of teaching,introducing Chinese cultural elements should be the key focus in Chinese and western cultural comparison. And teaching content should be expanded properly to the extent that students could get more opportunities for the input and output. Students are encouraged to watch more English movies about Chinese culture to get enough input about their familiar Chinese cultural elements which could be of help for their proper output expression and for developing their cross- cultural communication abilities.
