The'Belt and Road'initiative has brought unprecedented historical opportunities to the internationalization of Chinese medicine. As a unique health resource with independent intellectual property rights in China, traditional Chinese medicine can play a special role in the cooperative implementation of the 'Belt and Road'initiative.Chinese medicine resources are healthy resources, which are complementary and have certain comparative advantages with modern western medicine and traditional medicine of various ethnic groups in the 'Belt and Road'countries.Traditional Chinese medicine resources need to be activated to adapt to the needs of modern society, thus promoting the realization of resource values. Moreover, resources need to be passed on,leading to the development of innovations that can be applied to the health care of each country. Furthermore, the development and protection of Chinese medicine resources can ensure the sustainable development. The basis of international cooperation in Chinese medicine resources is the sharing of benefits. In order to promote the international exchanges and cooperation of Chinese medicine,we can strengthen in-depth cooperation in five areas: health resources, economic resources, scientific resources, technological resources, cultural resources and ecological resources.
