摘要
本文研究情状体和语篇结构对中国学生英语过渡语中一般过去时标记的影响。所用语料是从国内四所大学 1 2 0名非英语专业二年级学生中收集的 1 2 0篇记叙文。结果发现 ,情状体和语篇结构不仅对一般过去时标记有独立影响 ,而且有交互影响。情状体对一般过去时标记有显著影响 ,但与情状体优先假设的预测不尽一致。在语篇结构中 ,前景部分的一般过去时标记比例显著高于背景部分 ,符合语篇假设。情状体和语篇结构对一般过去时标记的影响受对方制约。在不同情状类型中 ,语篇结构的作用强弱不同 ,在活动动词和达成动词中较强 ,在状态动词和完结动词中较弱。情状体在前景部分对一般过去时标记的影响比在背景部分明显。
This paper studies the effects of lexical aspect and discourse structure on the simple past marking in Chinese-English interlanguage with 120 written narratives collected from 120 2nd-year university students. It is found that these two factors exert both individual and interactive effects on the simple past marking. The effect of lexical aspect does not fully agree with the prediction of the primacy of lexical aspect hypothesis, but that of discourse structure accords with the prediction of the discourse hypothesis. Besides, the effect of one factor is mediated by the other, hence the interactive effects occur. Discourse structure behaves differentially in various lexical aspect classes, stronger in activities and achievements than in states and accomplishments. Lexical aspect shows a stronger effect on the simple past marking in the foreground.
