This article introduces the two letters(one as the original copy)that Yuan Mei had sent to Li Xianqiao and 'The Preface To The Peotry Anthology of Xinghu', the famous poet in Shandong. The letters are of great value for the research of Yuan Mei's life, writings and associations. According to this, we confirm the earliest version of Essays of Suiyuan on Poetry,hav ing corrected many obscure viewpoints and solved a century's puzzle about the version of Essays of Suiyuan on Poetry.
