张謇为了推动近代实业的发展和维护国家经济权益,主张建立近代银行,实现金融体制的现代化。他提出中国金融的现代化应当走系统化、股份化、法制化和渐进化的道路,初步形成比较完备的金融现代化理念。张謇金融现代化的实践活动,不仅包括产业资本的运作,还涉及投资参股和设立近代银行。张謇关于现代金融体制的设想及其初步尝试,虽然受近代国情的制约而无法实现,却是其“实业救国”思想的充分体现,对当今社会也不无借鉴价值。

To promote modern enterprises and defend national economical rights, well-known industrialist ZhangJian proposed to establish modern banks and realize modernization of financial system in China .He put forward China should gradually build a systematic, stock and legal financial system, which indicated his tentative ideas took shape. Zhang's fi-nancial practice includes operating industrial capitals besides investing and establishing modern banks. However Zhang's financial thoughts and initial attempt weren't turned into reality due to modern China's actual conditions, which was fully embodied his ideal of saving the nation by engaging in industry and providing a salutary lesson to modern society.
