摘要
2002年1月至2002年12月我们对辽宁省26所高校的874名大学生和758名大学英语教师(包括系/部领导)进行了为期一年的调查.调查旨在了解辽宁省高校大学英语教师素质现状,为全省大学英语教师提供自我评估的机会,并就此提出逐步提高与完善大学英语教师素质的思路与建议.调查结果显示:辽宁省大学英语教师的整体素质能在一定程度上反映出我国大学英语师资队伍的现状.
We conducted a survey from January, 2002 to December 2002, among 874 students and 758 teachers of college English from 26 colleges and universities in Liaoning province. We looked into teachers' beliefs about college English teaching, into educational background, academic confidence, psychological states and how they evaluated themselves. We tried to find out what students expected from a good teacher of college English. Based on the findings, we put forward some suggestions as to how to promote teachers' all-round development so that departments concerned may take appropriate measures toward that end.
