On the Application of Functional Approach to Literary Translation

本文以<苔丝>的两个译本为例,探讨了德国的功能翻译理论在文学翻译批评中的应用.文章认为:功能翻译理论坚持翻译是一项跨语言、跨文化的活动,以翻译目的为总则,把原文作者、译者和译文读者都纳入了研究范畴,从而为文学翻译批评提供了一个多角度、动态的视野.

Taking two versions of translation of Tess of the D'Urbervilles for example, the author explores the application of German Functionlist Approaches in literary translation criticism. The article argues that Functionlist Approaches which intensifies that translation is an activity of multilanguage and multiculture and with “translation intension' as its general principle brings the original author,translator and readers of the translation into its study to present a dynamic and multi-dimentional perspective on literary translation criticism.
