指出张学良作为一位伟大的爱国者,不仅自己践行其爱国思想,而且高度重视爱国主义教育。探讨了张学良重视爱国主义教育的思想基础,对青年学生进行爱国主义教育的内容及其形式。运用史料论证了教育兴国思想是张学良重视爱国主义教育的思想基础;提出张学良爱国主义教育思想具有鲜明的时代特点;张学良重视校园文化建设,以此激发青年学生的爱国热情。尤其强调了张学良在培育东北大学爱国主义光荣传统中的重要作用。

Peter H. L. Chang, as a great patriot, not only practised his patriotic idea but also made much of the education of patriotism. His ideological basis of the education and the forms and contents of his educating activities are discussed. The idea that revitalizing China through education was the basic reason why Chang attached so much importance to the education of patriotism is expounded and proved here according to historical materials. Changs thought on the education of patriotism featured his own era distinctly in his course of history. He also paid attention to the cultural establishment on campus so as to encourage young students to be patriots, especially the Northeastern University founded by him has been keeping the patriotism as a glorious tradition.
