By presenting the different Chinese versions of Mark Twin's ' The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn', the author analyzes the phenomenon of multi - translations of the same titles of some English and American literary works. Then the author suggests some methods which translators, publish houses and some departments concerned should take to avoid multi - translations of the same book titles, since it can cause negative effects on library work. Finally, the author points out that librarians should know how to do well in the process of purchasing, selecting and editing, circulating and retrieving of library books.
