The Perspective of the Other and Chinese Culture of Communication

西方人普遍认为中国人的交际行为具有间接性和含义模糊的特点。这种文化误读的根源在于西方人用他者的眼光看待中国交际文化 ,容易看到其显性文化的一部分。阐释这些文化现象时 ,西方人容易用自己交际文化的标准对中国交际文化进行重构 ,忽略中国交际文化的隐性文化 ,把中国交际文化的多样性和复杂性简单化。

Westerners often misunderstand Chinese culture of communication.They hold that the Chinese mode of communication is indirect and implicit.This kind of misunderstanding results from their looking at Chinese culture from the point of view of the other.Their perspective leads them to notice the visible part of Chinese culture but to ignore its invisible part and leads them to simplify Chinese culture with western culture of communication.
