On the Encouragement and Cultivation of Chinese Ethos

民族精神是一个民族占主导地位的思想品格、价值取向和道德规范的精华。中华民族拥有以爱国主义为核心的团结统一、爱好和平、勤劳勇敢、自强不息的民族精神。应在改革开放和现代化建设实践中弘扬和培育民族精神。

Ethos is a leading character for a nation, and an essence to its value directionality and morals. The Chinese nation has an ethos which centers on patriotism and emphasizes on national unity and integration, peace loving, industry and persistence. The paper discuss how to encourage and cultivate the Chinese ethos in the practice of reforming and construction of modernization.
