欧美妇女权运动在为妇女争得平等选举权与被选举权、平等决策权和执行公务的权利与机会方面取得了长足进展,尊重妇女的权利已成为社会共识,女性自我意识和自我价值观得到进一步表现,在政坛上成为一支独立和活跃的力量。但是妇女在社会经济生活中的地位没有质的改变,在分享权力和决策中缺乏公平竞争的机会。在当今西方社会,女权主义者又提出超越传统平等理想,重新看待性别平等,开始以女性为中心的方法看待差异,把差异看成形成女性力量和特征的源泉。

To strike for equal franchise and the right to stand for election and for equal policy-making right and executive right, European and American women's rights movement has made considerable headway. Respecting women's rights has become social agreement. Women's self-consciousness and self-value view have made further expression and have become an independent and brisk power. In social economic life, women's status doesn't change and in sharing power, women lack equal opportunity. In today's western society, women's right advocates put forward overstepping traditional equal ideals, review the equality of sexual distinction, begin to look upon distinction in the way of women-center and regard distinction as the source of women's power and feature.
