Information technology promotes the development of the category management. The data warehouse technology is a kind of information technology, which is developed on the data base to meet the requirement of decision support. While the information value chain of the category management includeing data aquisition, data management, data analysis and decision support is discussed , the application of the data warehouse technology in the process of constructing the category management information system is described. Finally, the practical establishment with practical example is introduced.
