Negation and Affirmation on Pragmatism

对实用主义持辩证否定的态度,认为不能因为我们过去有失客观,今天就要矫枉过正。对作为哲学流派的实用主义作了否定中的肯定:有哲学的创新所在,但在根本上是不科学的;对作为美国精神的实用主义作了肯定中的否定:体现了时代的精神和理念,但也导致错误观念和行动。

This article adopts an attitude of dialectical negation towards pragmatism, holding that we can not put too much weight on the side of affirmation today since we once put too much weight on the side of negation on pragmatism. The same time when we deny the doctrine of pragmatism, we should admit some plausible themes of the doctrine. It is noticeable that although the doctrine of pragmatism is non-scientific in general, it really contains some creative ideas. In addition, being the spirit of the nation of America, pragmatism does reflect the particular traits and perspectives of its age, and undoubtedly in the meantime, it leads to many fallacious ideas and actions.
