D·H·艾伦博士提出等效最大投资周期指标用以评价项目投资的效果,以期对投资回收期指标予以改进。但实际上以等效最大投资周期指标改进投资回收期并不理想,甚至会导致错误的评价结论,故不宜将其用于投资项目评价。

Aiming at improving the indexes on payback period, Dr. D·H·Ellen put forth the index of equivalent maximum investment period to evaluate the project investment.On the basis of our in-depth study,it is proved in this paper that it's not effective to improve payback period with equivalent maximum investmentperiod, or even a wrong conclusion may be resulted from the improvement.It's not appropriate to use equivalent maximum investment period in project evaluation.
