鉴于"堂堂之中国,而无一女学堂",经元善等创办了经正女学。作为中国人创办的第一所女子学校,经正女学打破了教会女学一统天下的局面,但同时,不管在办学过程中,还是在办学思想、课程设置、管理制度等方面,它都深受传教士和教会女学的影响。

After the first Opium War, the ecclesiastic girl schools were established by the occidental great powers in order to reinforce the aggression of thought and culture. This accelerated the women's arousal in modern China to a certain extent. Jing Zheng girl school established for the purpose of initiating girl schools, promoting thoughts and strengthening our country is the first girl school founded by Chinese people themselves. Jing Zheng girl school broke the dominance of education by ecclesiastic girl schools in China. In addition, the tough initiating process of Jing Zheng girl school in the late Qing Dynasty and the deep influences of the missionaries on the ideas of school running, curriculum designing, and the management system are presented and the important role of the Jing Zheng girl school in the women's liberation movement of modern China is also discussed.
