Objective To probe into the relationship between the blood glucose level of severe craniocerebral trauma at its acute phase and the disease conditions or prognosis, and the nursing strategy of hyperglycemia. Methods We retrospectively studied the relationship between blood glucose level, Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), Glasgow Outcome Scale (GOS) among 89 patients with severe craniocerebral trauma using statistical analysis. Results The blood glucose level was negatively correlated with the scores of GCS and GOS (P<0.01): The lower the score by GCS, the higher the glucose level and the worse the prognosis. Conclusion It helps raise the survival rate to right control and monitor the blood glucose level, closely observe the changes of conditions, reinforce nutrition, and keep balanced water-electrolyte.
