The significance of the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor in adenoid cystic carcinoma of salivary glands

目的探讨涎腺腺样囊性癌血管内皮生长因子表达的意义。方法采用免疫组织化学SP法检测 34例涎腺腺样囊性癌VEGF的表达。结果VEGF表达与涎腺腺样囊性癌病理分型、淋巴结转移、临床分期有关 ,与发病部位、肿瘤大小无关。结论VEGF的表达可作为判断涎腺腺样囊性癌生物学行为的一个指标。

Objective To evaluate the significance of expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in adenoid cystic carcinoma of salivary glands. Methods Immunohistochemically ultrasensitive staining(SP) was used to examine VEGF expression in specimens from 34 patients with adenoid cystic carcinoma of salivary glands. Results VEGF expression was related to the pathological group, lymph node metastasis and clinical grade, but was not related to site and size of the tumor. Conclusion VEGF expression may be served as one of the predicators for the biological behavior of adenoid cystic carcinoma of salivary glands.
