MRI study of pineal in normal Chinese

目的 :研究正常国人松果体的MRI表现 ,建立正常松果体的MRI标准。方法 :共有 2 32例受试者。每个受试者均接受 5个扫描序列 /位置 :横断面T1WI、FLAIR ,矢状面T1WI、T2 WI,冠状面T1WI。观察测量指标包括 :性别 ,年龄 ,松果体形态 ,松果体大小 ,松果体信号 ,松果体的强化特征等。结果 :88% ( 2 0 5 / 2 32 )松果体呈不规则的椭圆形。总体松果体矢状径 7.3± 3.3mm(均数 +标准差 )。未成年组的松果体矢状径 6 .7± 2 .2mm。成年组男性和女性的松果体矢状径分别为7.2± 3.3mm、7.8± 3.6mm。囊性松果体约占 33.5 % ( 78/ 2 33)。松果体中心距颅左、右壁外板的距离 70 .7± 6 .8mm、71.4± 7.2mm。结论 :松果体主要形态呈不规则的椭圆形 ,稍偏中线左侧。确立了国人松果体的矢状径的正常值范围。发现成年女性的松果体大于成年男性。

Objective:This study was undertaken to analyze the pineal appearance of normal Chinese, to establish the standard of normal pineal in MRI.Methods:There were 232 subjects in this study. Five sequences/positions were conducted to each subject, which includes: transaction T 1WI?FLAIR, sagittal T 1WI?T 2WI and coronary T 1WI.Following data was observed:sex,age,the pineal's shape?size?signal,the character of pineal's enhancement.Results:88% pineal appeared in ellipsoid forms.The sagittal diameter of all subjects:7.3±1.7mm(mean±standard deviation).The sagittal diameter of juvenile subjects:6.7±1.1mm.The sagittal diameter of adult male and female subjects:7.2±1.7mm and 7.8±1.8mm.The mean of female pineal sagittal diameter is significantly longer than male's (P<0.05).In all subjects the cystic pineals were 33.5%.The distance of pineal center to right and left skull wall: 71 4±7.2mm/70.7±6.8mm.Conclusion:The main forms of pineal appeared irregular ellipse.The normal range of pineal's sagittal diameter of Chinese was identified.It was found that female pineal are bigger than male.
