基于先进文化这一分析框架,文章认为,东西方文化并非两种性质不同的文化,而是本质上相同的人类统一的文化发展线路中不同阶段和水平的文化。东西方文化之间主要不是差异,而是差距。在整体上,西方文化系相对先进的文化,东方文化为相对后进的文化。中国建设先进文化,加速现代化进程,必须不断变革传统文化,全面学习当代西方文化成就。
