Electromagnetic Forces and the Third Law of Newton

通过对电磁力及牛顿第三定律的研究表明:两电荷之间的相互作用力并非作用力和反作用力,不属于牛顿第三定律的应用范畴,不能依此来判断牛顿第三定律是否成立。但是包括整个电磁场在内的封闭系统的动量依然是守恒的,这就间接地证明了涉及电磁力时牛顿第三定律仍然成立。

This paper, by investigating the electromagnetic forces and the third law of Newton, suggests that the interacting forces between two charges are not a pair of action-reaction forces and cann't be used to judge whether the third law of Newton is right or not. It's proved that the momenturm of a close system including electromagnetic field is conservative, which justifies the third law of Newton for the electromagnetic forces.
