城市广场是城市开放空间最重要活跃的元素,也是难度很大的课题,当前国内许多城市在兴建广场的热潮中,应更深入地研究自己城市的特点,多方面了解国内外的经验和教训,努力把握住问题的症结,以科学的态度和精神探求、创建能表现我们时代精神、优美而充满活力的城市广场和开放空间,这是一个持续努力营造的过程,不可能一蹴而就。我们的目标是建设具有良好空间品质、人性化的、富有中国特色的现代城市广场。

Plaza is the most important and active element in urban open space and is a planning subject with high degree of difficulty. Lots of domestic cities are in a fever of constructing plaza. On purpose to create elegant and vivid urban plaza and open space, which could express ethos of the times, it is necessary to pay more attention to go further into the features of the city which the planners work for, to draw experience and a lesson in many ways from home and abroad, to catch hold of the crux of the problems and to scientifically approach them. This is a sustained constructing process and is impossible to be accomplished in one move. Our objective is creating modern urban plaza with good special quality, humanization and Chinese characteristics.
