On the Problem of the CCP Criticizing the Yugoslav Communist Party's Nationalism In the Summer of 1948

1948年夏,中共参加了对南共民族主义的批判。所谓南共民族主义,实际上是南共对苏联和斯大林执行独立自主路线的表现。在这方面,中共与南共有颇多相似之处。中共参加这次批判,并没有对南共对内、对外政策进行具体指责,主要表明自己决不走第三条道路,以便消除斯大林的误解,以达到与苏联建立战略同盟,粉碎西方孤立新中国的目的。今天应历史地看待这一问题。

In the Summer of 1948, the CCP took part in the criticizing movement about the Yugoslav Communist Party's nationalism . In fact, the said nationalism was to act indepently and with the initiative in Yugoslavian own hand by slipping the leash of Soviet Union and Stalin. In this aspect, the CCP agreed with the Yugoslav Communist Party mostly. So, the CCP did not criticize the domestic and foreign policies of Yugoslav. The main intention of the CCP was to declare 'the third road' unacceptable publicly and to eliminate the misunderstandings between China and Stalin. In order to defeat the western isolation, China needed to set up strategic union with the Soviet Union.
