The Author thinks that there are close relation s between contemporary political development in Middle East and the movement of Is lamic revival. Fro m the angels of Political Legitimacy, Ideology, Political System and Institution , Political Democratization, the process of political development was a challeng e to Islam, and the frustration of political development was political roots of the movement of Islamic revival. The movement of Islamic resurgence postponed the process of political development in the Middle East.
