M ObjectiveTo study keratin 14(K14)expression in psoriatic les ions and investigat e the relationship between K14 expression and streptococcal infection.Me thodBac teria were isolated from throats of psoriatic patients.Patients with streptococc i were divided into two groups by culture results(group with streptococci contai ning M6 protein and group with streptococci non-containing M6 protein).Immunohis tochemical streptavidin-peroxidase technique was used to stain psoriatic lesions and normal control skins. The slides were observed descriptively through microsc opy and quantified with pathological image assay system. Results The results show ed that K14 express increasingly in the whole psoriatic epidermis, but in normal c ontrols,it expressed only in basal layer.Patients with streptococci containingM6 protein had denser and darker positive particles than those with streptococci non-containing M6 protein(P<0 05)。 ConclusionIt indicate that K14 express overly in psoriatic epidermis ,especially in patients infecting streptococcus containing M6 protein.
