摘要
运用近代语言科学创始人索绪尔的词项联想的观点，对英语新闻语篇中有关背景知识的词项展开联想，从而帮助解码者把握新闻脉络，预测新闻内容，减轻记忆负荷，扩大记忆容量，达到对新闻语篇准确构建和迅速解码的目的。在此基础上，本文也探讨了在教学实践中如何提高英语新闻背景知识联想能力的问题。
This thesis attempts to adopt the theory of word association which was held by Saussure,the founder of modern linguistic science,and to have an association about the words of background knowledge in the English news text in order to help the decoder,on one hand,to distinguish the orientation and preview the contents of the news,on the other hand,to lighten the burden and enlarge the capacity of memory . If so,the listener will construct the news text correctly and decode it quickly. Based on the analysis,the problem on how to improve the ability in English news background knowledge association in the process of teaching and learning has also been studied.
