The circuit topology and operation project affect performance of the regulation speed system. An operation project with four step PWM is presented which is based on the analysis about the circuit topology and operation project of the regulating speed system of high power propulsive synchronous motor. The results obtained from simulation and experiments confirm that the regulation speed system fits for any phase synchronous motor, has lower voltage endured by power switch, and frequency of armature winding PWM higher than that of power switch, stronger operation capability in subtraction phase.
