铁路智能运输系统强调从系统的角度对铁路各专业领域进行综合优化,其最大特点体现在以"高安全、高效率、高品质服务"综合提高铁路运输的整体水平和竞争力。系统中列车、线路、控制中心等各组成部分具有高度智能性,且彼此间有着强大的信息交互能力。根据智能程度的高低,铁路智能运输系统可分为初级、较高级和高级铁路智能运输系统三个阶段。中国铁路智能运输系统的研究尚处于初级阶段,需加强信息共享、信息通讯、安全监控、调度指挥等方面的研究,以智能化用户导航系统、电子商务系统、综合运输系统、智能化紧急救援与安全系统、智能化铁路资源管理系统、智能化营运管理系统、智能化行车控制与调度系统等组成的服务框架为基础,构件系统逻辑框架、物理框架和通用技术平台框架,逐步建立起完善的中国铁路智能运输系统。

Railway Intelligent Transportation System (RITS) emphasizes the integrated optimization of each specialty from the system point of view, which features the enhancement of the entire rail system and the competitiveness of railway transportation with higher level of safety, higher efficiency and higher quality of service. Each component of RITS such as train, line and control center has a higher level of intelligence and there is a higher capacity of messaging among them. According to the intelligent level, RITS is divided in 3 phases: elementary RITS, intermediate RITS and advanced RITS. In China, the studies on RITS are still in the initial phase and research should be strengthened in many aspects such as information sharing, information communication, safety supervision and dispatching control. Based on the service architecture of RTIS including intelligent user navigation system, E-commerce system, inter-modal transportation system, intelligent emergency and safety system, intelligent railway resource management system, intelligent operation management system, and intelligent train control and dispatching system, the logic architecture, physical architecture and general platform architecture of RITS are established. A consummate China national RITS will be built up gradually.
