The theor of faithful expression of words, which was put forward by Su Shi in Northern Song Dynasty, emphasizes that when writing, an author should first be aware of the objective things fully, understand their internal and external relationship, and convey their meanings with words. This is a further creation and development of Confucius' idea. It is also Su Shi' s summary of his whole life' s literary creation.
