摘要
20世纪以来,华裔文坛涌现出众多才华横溢的作家,汤亭亭和谭恩美的作品都曾在不同时期引起反响,好评如潮。在她们小说文本的基础上,可透视她们笔下的女性世界:深受中国文化浸染的母辈的故事俨然是旧式女性生存状态的缩影;以"我"为主人公的一代新人身处异域文化,她们在边缘化的话语环境中抗争,"母辈"的无奈与"我辈"的反叛达到强烈的戏剧冲突的效果,而母女两代的和解使激烈的冲突转为和谐与宁静,且进一步使文本升华,使其成为传统与现代、东方与西方文化融通的真实写照,两种文化在两代人的交往中撞击而逐渐磨合,两个文本不约而同地选取两代母女的心灵世界作为视点,在追溯远祖传统、华裔精神的故园中,在寻找回来的世界中重铸各自的精神世界并实现相互的融通。
Since the beginning of 20th century,the second generation of American Chinese immigrants began to influence the American literary circle with their beaming intelligence and unique cultural perspective.This essay analyzed the feminine psychology of two different generations of Chinese immigrants in the states construed by American Chinese women writers Amy Tan and Maxine Hong Kinston in their major works The woman Warrior: Memoirs of a Girlhood Among Ghosts(Amy Tan)and The Joy Luck Club(Maxine Hong Kinston).Based on that,this essay gave great insight in revealing the weakness of the old generation and the rebellion of the new generation.The mother ,representative of the old Chinese tradition,contrasts dramatically with the daughter,grown up in the foreign land with modern spirits.However,the final reconciliation of the two generations,despite their dramatic clash,is an epitome of the gradual fusion of the east and west,old and new,peacefully and harmoniously.
