摘要 With the waning of domestic reserves belonging to the nation's largest oil firm-PetroChina, over seasexpansion seems to be the only way out. This has prompted PetroChina to target oil fields in Southeast and Central Asia, Africa and Russia to feed its growing appetite, said Wang Guoliang chief financial officer of PetroChina, in a recent interview with news media. With the waning of domestic reserves belonging to the nation's largest oilfirm - PetroChina, overseas expansion seems to be the only way out. This has prompted PetroChina totarget oil fields in Southeast and Central Asia, Africa and Russia to feed its growing appetite,said Wang Guoliang chief financial officer of PetroChina, in a recent interview with news media. Itis the centerpiece of the company's amtitious drive to stand on an equal footing with multinationalmajors like ExxonMobil, and Royal/Dutch Shell, which have more than half of the business overseas.Wang said PetroChina will not look to Europe or North America where there is already a mature andcompetitive market, and wehere the company has no advantages.
